Illuminated Bathroom Mirrors

PICOOne of the latest trends in bathroom mirrors and bathroom design is the Illuminated bathroom mirror. These mirrors do much more than light up a pretty face; they also offer a sleek, contemporary, minimalistic look for your bathroom.

There are many options available in illuminated bathroom mirrors in both size and shape as well as lighting options.

If you’re thinking about an illuminated bathroom mirror, or “lighted mirror” for your space, here are some points to consider:

Lighting

Bathroom mirrors are available with flourescent or halogen lights that are either located inside or outside of the mirror’s frame. These lights are either activated by motion or switch.

For the models on which the lighting is attached to the mirror (rather than coming from behind it) the lighting can be directed either upward or downward. When choosing your illumination, be sure to take into account the color or hue of the other lighting in your bathroom as some lighting can tend to lean towards the yellows, while others may appear more blue or white in color.

Shape and Size

The options in shape and size are nearly endless. Frameless, framed, individual sink sized or longer for the double sink vanity. There is of course, round, square, rectangular and some not-so-average, artistic shapes as well.

While the illuminated bathroom mirror tends to be a pricier design alternative, ranging anywhere from a few hundred dollars on up, it does offer a fabulously chic and sophisticated, modern look, as well as greater illusion of space. It also adds a greater fog resistance than normal bathroom mirrors due to it’s built in heat from the lights reflecting both inside and outside.

When remodeling or designing the bathroom of your dreams, consider the latest trend in contemporary, sleek style and take a good look in the illuminated bathroom mirror.
